WWF Capital Carnage was a UK-only PPV event that took place on December 6, 1998 at the London Arena in London, England. The main event was a fatal four-way match between Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Mankind, and Kane. The WWF Championship belt was defended by The Rock in a singles match with X-Pac. Ken Shamrock defended the Intercontinental Belt against Steve Blackman. Jim Ross suffered his second Bells palsy attack on-air during this event. He did not officially call matches again for the WWE until the main event of WrestleMania XV.

WWE Capital Carnage Reviews

  • Well Worth The Drive To London
by Big Movie Fan on 22 December 2002
    from England
    ***MATCH SPOILERS***
I saw this event live and again on video a few months after. I have seen a lot of negative comments about Capital Carnage in wrestling magazines but I really did think it was an awesome card and that a couple of bad matches couldn't even spoil it.
I drove over 100 miles from the West Midlands to London to see this event in December 1998. I hate driving into London unless it's absolutely necessary. Seeing Capital Carnage was going to cost me a lot with my ticket, petrol money, parking and hotel bills so I was hoping to see a good event. I was not disappointed.
Some of the matches were short such as the Headbangers VS L.O.D. 2000 and Val Venis VS Goldust but they were all entertaining in some sort of way. There were also other things good about the show. Vince McMahon came out with his son Shane and Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson and verbally assaulted the United Kingdom and our customs. Also, ex-footballer Vinnie Jones came out and offered a few words to the fans. Vinnie is very charismatic.
The matches were pretty good. Al Snow started off with Gangrel and they had a good match. The other undercard matches were decent apart from maybe Tiger Ali Singh VS Edge.
The Rock had a match defending his WWF Title against X-Pac. It was a good match but I was a little disappointed in the disqualification finish.
The main event was a four way match between Steve Austin, the Undertaker, Kane and Mankind. I have seen better four way matches but this was awesome for so many reasons.
For starters, there was plenty of outside the ring stuff going on. Vince McMahon was the guest commentator. Pat Patterson was the guest timekeeper. Gerald Brisco was the guest referee. The Big Boss Man was the guest ring enforcer and Vinnie Jones was supposed to be as well. Vinnie punched the Big Boss Man through the ropes and Brisco produced a red card (which just happened to be in his pocket) and sent Vinnie off. All this before the match had even started.
And what a match it was-very brutal at times and it was fun seeing Brisco's bias towards Steve Austin. Whenever Austin was ready to pin an opponent, something would happen such as Brisco turning his back or having a convenient spasm in his leg. Austin won the match eventually and Vinnie Jones came back out to help him celebrate with beers. Oh yes, and referee Earl Hebner also stomped on the Big Boss Man at the end.
All in all, a superb card which made the boring 111 mile drive to London very worthwhile. I have no problem in recommending this event to anyone. It is now deleted on video but I am sure you'll find it somewhere.

It was a pretty good PPV but the match with Sable & Jackie. I don't really care to see naked girls. I give the PPV 8/10. My favorite match was the Undertaker vs Austin vs Kane vs Mankind.
